Welcome back!
Rail Pass is an excellent way to save money on rail trips. It seems in recent years with the rise in fuel prices that rail trips are back on the popular radar for tourists and in some parts of the world there is no better way to travel. In Europe the best form of travel is definately rail. The European network is extensive and the range of high speed trains available in countries such as the United Kingdom, France, Germany and so forth has revolutionised travel for people.
If your smart when booking or you book well ahead good discounts are available, the Eurostar is an excellent example of this as you can save time and money with a little planning. With airfares rising around the world due to higher oil and jet fuel prices and the convenience of avoiding airport customs especially in Europe makes it much easier to take rail transport. Discount airfares cannot get any cheaper and will only rise for airlines to stay in business and with the ease of train travel you can avoid all the baggage and security restrictions imposed by airports now.
I have certainly found train travel to be more convenient and generally more cost effective than air travel. For a tourist one of the main things is to see the destination you are visiting and on a train you can do just this. Air travel does not provide you the chance to see and experience the destinations in between your departure and arrival destinations. In my experience, especially in Europe these destinations are the ones that gave me the most enjoyment and lasting memories of my trip.
Rail Pass offers you some wonderful discounts on a range of rail travel in Australia, Western Europe, Eastern Europe, Scandinavia and the United Kingdom. The savings available are considerable and come in many different forms from a Eurail Pass for all of Europe, a 3-5 country Eurail pass or a 3, 2, or 1 country pass. I can fully recommend the Rail Pass, click below if your interested in checking out what Eurail has to offer.

London Pass

The London Pass is something every first time visitor to London should consider. I recently spoke about the Paris Pass and how it can save you a considerable amount of money over two, four or six days but the London Pass is just as good.
The London Pass gives you access to over 50 sites in London and can be purchased as a one, two, three or six day pass. The best value with the London Pass is with either the three or six day pass. When I visited London in 2007 immediately after my trip to Paris I purchased the three day pass to try and save as much as possible in what is one of the most expensive cities in the world. I was able to maximise my visits to see a range of major sites and with some well timed visits you can make this pay big dividends.
One great advantage is the London Pass will give you expediated access to major tourist sites and a London Pass with travel can also be purchased which gives you access to zones 1-6 as well which will save you considerable amounts of travel alone should you explore some of the great tourist destinations in the outer zones. The the relatively small additional expense it is well worth including travel as a single fare could cost more than a full day pass included with the London Pass. Also the London Pass comes in an adult and child form so you will not have to buy one full value pass if you are travelling as a family.
Some of the sites the London Pass gives you access to are Shakespere’s Globe Theatre, Kensignton Palace, London Zoo, Queen’s Gallery, Royal Albert Hall, St Paul’s Cathedral, Tate Britain, Tate Modern, Wimbledon Tour, Windsor Castle, Tower of London, Jewel Tower, Hampton Court Palace, Eton College, City Cruises, Britain at War Experience, Apsley House, Chelsea Football Club, Churchhill Museum and Cabinet War Rooms and many other attractions. Additional discounts are also provided beyond free entry at a range of destinations such as discounted food and audio guides etc.
I can highly recommend the London Pass as a way to save you money allowing you more for either accomodation, your further travels or a spot of shopping on Regent Street. Click the link below to visit the London Pass site.
